Real Madrid look for their first clean sheet of the young La Liga season, hosting Osasuna FC at the Bernabéu at 3:00 PM (EST). Los Blancos return home after a grueling league matchup with Atletico Madrid, managing a 2-1 win. Madrid will likely be continuing their classic 4-3-3 formation, with Benzema coming back into the lineup.
Benzema is said to be playing in the upcoming match after nearly three weeks due to an injury to the semitendinosus tendon (right knee) and a strain to the quadricep muscle in his right thigh. After an interview with Marca following a practice, Benzema said, “he is ready to play.”
Luka Modric, while playing internationally, came back with an injury in his upper hip; scheduled to miss the next four fixtures, Luka will supposedly be back in time for El Clasico. It’s been suspected Eduardo Camavinga starts in Modric’s place.
Predicted Lineup
With (CF) Benzema potentially starting but likely not playing the full game, Rodrygo is set to come off the bench after the half. (LW): Vinicius Junior looking to keep up the pace on the left flank while (RW): Federico Valverde will be playing the right. (CM) Toni Kroos and (CM) Eduardo Camavinga will lock down the midfield with Tchouameni behind them in the holding position. (LB) Ferdinand Mendy defending on the left side with (CB) David Alaba, (CB) Eder Militao, and (RB) Dani Carvajal on his right. Last but not least we have Los Blancos’ very own powerhouse of a goalie, (GK) Thibaut Courtouis.
