Trades involving Ottawa, Boston and Montreal
On March 18th the PWHL announced that Boston is set to receive forward Lexie Adzija from Ottawa, in exchange for Shiann Darkangelo. PWHL Boston also obtains the rights to forward Caitrin Lonergan. A secondary trade was also announced between Ottawa and Montreal. Ottawa is set to receive Tereza Vanišová from Montreal in exchange for Amanda Boulier.
Lexie Adzija’s Impact on PWHL Ottawa
Despite Adzija only playing for Ottawa for a short time in the beginning of the PWHL Inaugural season, she has made quite the impression. After previously playing for Quinnipiac University, Lexie has acquired eight points for PWHL Ottawa, with five goals and three assists in a total of seventeen games. Regardless of her contribution to putting up numbers, Lexie has put out a massive presence on the ice, she has been a physical and fierce player for Ottawa. Off the ice, Lexie Adzija has earned a well deserved fanbase and has become a fan favourite amongst the Ottawa crowd. Although it is sad to see her go, it will be interesting to see what she accomplishes in Boston.
Welcome Shiann Darkagelo
Forward Shiann Darkangelo, age 30, is off to Ottawa. Darkangelo is an accomplished player, owning titles such as playing on the international stage with team USA and winning gold at the 2016 IIHF Women’s World Championship. As she moves out of Boston and into Ottawa she should be expected to be an asset for PWHL Ottawa.
Hello Tereza Vanišová
Tereza Vanišová, Czech professional hockey player, is ready to make the move from close rival, Montreal, to Ottawa. Obtaining ten points for Montreal, two goals and eight assists in seventeen games. Vanišová has proved to be a vital assist player and will bring up the offensive end for PWHL Ottawa.
Goodbye and Thank you Amanda Boulier
As Amanda Boulier prepares to make the move from Ottawa to Montreal, it is recognized that she ranked third in scoring, within Ottawa’s defenders. She put up six points within seventeen games. As Ottawa see’s her off to Montreal, it is hoped she makes strides in Montreal.
